5 Easy Ways To Save Money on Your Wedding

5 Ways to Save Money on Your Wedding

A wedding is one of the biggest, most incredible moments in a person’s life. Not only is there pressure to make certain that your wedding is your dream come true, but there is also pressure to make sure your guests are having the time of their life.

People are willing to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a wedding. They will even have someone else plan their wedding so that they don’t have to be a part of the stress. This is all fine and dandy if you or your parents have the money but, what happens if you family isn’t wealthy and neither are you? I’m sure you still want to have the wedding of your dreams and you should, it just may look a little differently. So, here’s how we planned our wedding for under $7,000.

1. Find a free wedding venue and plan to work hard.

When Zack and I got engaged, we knew exactly where we wanted to be married. Earlier in the year, his family had moved to a beautiful spot of land in the Oklahoma country. I know this sounds like it was the perfect set up and it was but, it took Zack and I a lot of work to level the land and plant grass seed. But we were willing to work hard to make our wedding venue the one we’ve always dreamed of.

2. Pick two things that you will not budge on.

We didn't want to skimp on good pictures or my wedding day dress.

For me, these two things were my wedding dress and photography. What I mean by this is to decide what things you will not spend less money on. Everyone has their perfect idea of what their wedding dress will look like, so if this is something you want to splurge on, then that is more than okay. If you want to have a decently priced wedding plan to cut corners on other things.

3. Make all your decor and get help from the wedding party.

We made all of our decorations by buying things at crafts shops.

Sure, this sounds stressful, but it was incredibly worth it. Not only was I able to have exactly what I wanted but it made the wedding much more worth it because so much hard work went into every little detail.

4. Order your flowers in bulk from Sam’s Club.

You can find some beautiful flowers if it's the right time of year.

Like I said before, you should plan to work hard if you want to spend very little on your wedding. Not only is this a fun activity for the families to be a part of but it saves you so much money. We ordered our wedding flowers for under $350. This includes 16 routines, 16 bouquets, and flowers for the centerpieces. We picked out some of the flowers we liked and ordered several in bulk. Be sure to check reviews on the particular flowers and the suggested amount you should order for your wedding. This is a very easy way to save money.

5. Save on food & drinks.

You don't have to serve dinner. Finger foods and deserts are a great way to save money!

Sure, you want your guests to have happy hearts and full bellies, I did too. That’s why you should plan to have your wedding at night after dinner time. That way your guests don’t expect a dinner, and you can purchase finger foods, drinks, and dessert. Food is one of the biggest expenses of a wedding, so if you can cut corners on anything, this is the one I would suggest.

Remember, your wedding should be stress-free and one of the greatest nights of your life.

The easiest way to save money on your wedding day and make it the most meaningful is to plan to work hard.
